Hopefully this kind of thinking will keep you grounded. You shouldn’t favor a team because they are the team your best friend supports. So do yourself a favor and swear off them. Thus when you are doing well, you will still be focused and when you aren’t doing so well you won’t be thinking that it’s the end of the world. So if you suffer a bad break along the way, just remember it goes with the territory. You want to know who trained and who didn’t. What is the point of drowning yourself in statistics and research for what you could just as easily decided with a flip of the coin? So you need to sift through it all and just take the morsels here and there which are really important and make a difference. You don’t want to lose money just because you weren’t on top of your game.
The most important thing is that you need to take emotion out of the equation. It doesn’t matter if it is pretty or not.
Information and doing your homework is important, but you don’t want to full into the trap of information overload. For instance, if you are pretty certain that a side is going to win and they are getting good odds for this than take this. You will be better off for doing so in the long run.
In the case of team sports, injuries are important. It is only going to place you in a difficult position and as much as you might think it won’t be, your decision making ability is going to be compromised. Also look into how sides perform the week after doing certain travel. On the flip side, you shouldn’t bet against a team because someone you don’t like roots for that team. It could provide great insight as to predicting what will occur.
Sports betting is an easy way to make a tough living. Because of this point, it is probably better if you steer clear from any matches involving the teams that you like. This means that when you place your bets you need to be thinking clearly and concisely. It’s all about accumulating winnings. Over time, you will learn what it should be that you should be paying attention to.. Anything less than this and it is going to be a disaster. If you are going to do it you need to do it properly and master it, it means you are completely organized and focused. You can’t let the highs and lows affect you too much.
Look for value bets. Upsets are always going to happen but see when it makes the most sense when to go for that and when not to. Travel is a factor such as when East Coast sides travel to the West Coast and vice versa. Business is business and you need to be concentrating on who is going to win regardless of who likes and who doesn’t like which team.
Speaking of the long run, this is what you should be focused on. The weather conditions also make a difference as they do in horse racing
In the latter, scoring is greatly reduced. While the American Professional Slow Pitch League or APSPL became the first professional softball league to play (1977-1982), the Detroit Caesars were the first winners of the professional softball World Series in 1977. History reveals that, in the winter of 1887, when a Yale alumnus pitched a boxing glove at a Harvard supporter on hearing the score of the annual football game at the Farragut Boat Club, the latter grabbed a broom and swung it right back. The Joint Rules Committee on Softball was established in 1934, to standardize the game’s rules and regulations. By the 1930s, softball had made its way across the United States and Canada. The game swept across Europe by 1972. In time, Hancock developed a special softball and bat, and set down rules for the game in 1889. Way back then, the game was referred to as ‘Indoor Baseball’. Today, softball remains a popular sport in elementary and high schools across the globe.
The popularity of softball lies in the scope to further modify the rules with each game. The impulsive improvisation made that day was the barehanded fielding of the softball. The commonly observed differences between the two are:
Baseballs are smaller and harder than softballs.
Softball pitches are thrown underhand, unlike the overhand throws displayed in a game of baseball.
Softball is commonly played by women, more than men.
The history of softball dates back to 1887, Chicago, Illinois. While the offense bats to score runs, the defense team fields and attempts ‘run-outs’. The game was officially coined as ‘Softball’ in 1926, by Walter Hakanson. The first game was played with a broom handle for a bat! The first version of the game was played on Thanksgiving Day, by George Hancock. In 1897, the first softball league was organized outside the United States, in Toronto. It is covered with leather or any light, synthetic fabric. While running counterclockwise around the bases, the player is expected to physically touch each one in the order of succession. The softball used today is around 12 inches in circumference. Each inning comprises a ‘top half’ and ‘bottom half’. The game differs from baseball more in application than in regulations. Each one of the official seven innings involve both teams playing ‘offense’ and ‘defense’. The game is now played extensively by men and women across the globe, competitively, as well as for recreation.
Equipment includes a softball, bat, gloves, and protective gear such as a helmet, shin guards, and a chest protector. Today, the International Softball Federation hosts world championships every four years. The outdoor version developed by Rober introduced a 12-inch ball, as opposed to the 16-inch ball used earlier. He intended the game to be a winter version of the American favorite field sport, baseball. During the latter part of the nineteenth century, softball was also referred to as Pumpkin Ball and Diamond Ball.
Rules and Regulations
The game of softball is played on a large field, comprising a distinctly demarcated grass infield, running areas, and an outfield. The field is divided into four bases: first base, second base, third base, and the home plate. By the 1940s, softball was characterized by fast pitching and a lengthened pitch distance. The teams switch roles at each declared ‘half’.. The outdoor game, developed for the Minneapolis firefighters, went by the name of ‘Kitten Ball’. With a score of 44-40, the first softball game came to an exciting end. However, in 1953, the Committee officially made slow pitching compulsory, under the Amateur Softball Association program. The bases are set at a distance of approximately 45 to 65 feet from one another. Under the name of ‘Indoor-Outdoor’, the game was an instant favorite. The objective of softball is to score more runs than the opposing team, by hitting the ball ‘into play’ and covering all the bases. The nine players on the field at a time include:
Softball is a popular US field sport; a descendant of baseball. George Hancock yelled ‘Play ball’, and the first ever game of softball began.
Hancock had knotted the boxing glove into a ball and used a broom handle as a bat. The rules of both these field sports are quite similar. This allows different groups to display and develop expertise in a variety of field skills. The first outdoor version was developed by Lewis Rober, Sr., in the year 1895. Some of the widely accepted variations include one-ball-one-strike, limited home runs, prohibited stealing of bases, and the home-plate-force-out. The rules on the field are adhered to in the presence of one or more umpires. The pitcher’s circle is marked equidistant from the four bases
Because of the winds, they were unable to cook their meals and ate everything cold. A baby boy was born on board the Mayflower.
Despite the horrid conditions on the Mayflower, a baby was born while it was crossing the ocean. The Native American guests brought five deer, popcorn, corn, carrots, cucumbers, turnips, onions, radishes, beets and cabbages.
So while you gobble up your turkey with family and friends, see if they know any of these ten interesting facts about the Pilgrims.
What makes this an interesting fact is their lack of hygiene. The Mayflower left Plymouth England on September 6, 1620.
A Visual Look at Their Hardships
The Pilgrims had very little variety in their diet. The Mayflower was a cargo ship and not meant to carry the 102 Pilgrims and 30 crew members. The survivors has to bury their dead in the dark.
What was served at the first Thanksgiving?
Another interesting fact is that by the time the journey was over, the sailors were impressed by their fortitude.
Their two Native American friends, Squanto and Samoset, spoke perfect English. There were two ships that were to sail to the New World, The Speedwell and The Mayflower. There was no bathroom, so they had to use buckets to relieve themselves. They ate “hardtack”, a dry biscuit. Insects infested much of the food that was aboard the ship.

The Pilgrims were unaccustomed to the sea, and frequently became sick. There was no midnight buffet on the Mayflower and the food was awful.
7. The Mayflower crew and the Pilgrims did not get along very well.
Do You Know These 10 Pilgrim Facts?
As you sit down to feast on turkey, sweet potatoes, corn and pumpkin pie this coming Thanksgiving, you can play a little trivia game using these ten interesting facts about the Pilgrims.
4. The sailors called them “glib-glabbety puke stockings.” Conversely, the Pilgrims did not like the sailors’ “salty” language.
Another interesting fact is that they did not sail to the New World on their first attempt. The travelers had to spend most of the sixty-six days of the journey underneath the ship in cramped quarters.
1. In order to not let the Native Americans who lived nearby know how much their ranks had shrank, they buried the dead in the dark so no one could see their decreasing numbers.
This outfit is so cute for baby’s first turkey day. It comes in several sizes.
8. The name of the baby was Oceanus Hopkins.
During their first winter in Plimouth, more than half of the people died from illness. After a search party of the healthiest men went out to find Plimouth, they again set sail and land on December 21.

3. Squanto taught the Pilgrims to plant with fertilizer, such as fish heads, with their seeds.
In the fall, when the harvest was great and bountiful, the Pilgrims decided to give thanks to G-d and their Native American friends for helping them through their first year in the New World.

The Jewish holiday of Sukkot celebrates the fall harvest, and being religious people, the Pilgrims based their feast on this holiday found in the Bible.
The girls and women prepared what the men had hunted: wild turkey, wild geese, wild duck, meat pies, lobsters, eels, clams, oysters, fresh fish of all kinds. The Mayflower was no luxury cruise.. Not all of the Pilgrims left England because they wanted freedom from religious persecution.
This interesting fact about the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving tells more than what we are taught in school. They did not settle in the first place they landed.
The journey from England to the New World was an uncomfortable one. There were no showers or laundry, so most of the people did not bathe and wore the same clothing for all sixty-six days of the voyage! Can you imagine the bugs, the dirt and the odor on that ship?
10. So the Mayflower sailed alone across the Atlantic Ocean.
5. The Speedwell, made two attempts to leave with the Mayflower, but each time it leaked. While several of the Pilgrims (called Separatists) did want to flee England for religious freedom, others went to the New World for business opportunities, some were hired hands and some were servants.
Brilliant, precocious, altogether the greatest horse of the 1990s (only Cigar can rival him). His lone loss, ironically to a horse named Upset, came during his 2-year-old season in the 1919 but hardly mars an otherwise dominating career.
Secretariat – 16 wins from 21 starts. Only denied a Triple Crown by a poorly judged ride in the Belmont Stakes by Ron Franklin. Great fillies like Personal Ensign and Ruffian did not make the list simply because I don’t think that on their best day they could beat any of the horses on this list on their best days (see also my article about Rachel Alexandra, about whom I would say the same.) Without further ado, the 10 Greatest Race Horses of All Time:

Honorable Mentions: Sunday Silence, Easy Goer, Buckpasser, Ghostzapper, Count Fleet, War Admiral, Seabiscuit, Damascus, Cigar, Personal Ensign, Ruffian, Risen Star, John Henry, Swaps. Twice named champion sprinter, and once Horse of the Year, he was among the best from 7 furlongs to 1 1/4 miles.
Miesque – 14 wins from 18 starts. Champion two and three-year old. His heart and intelligence combined with speed and stamina to make him one of the all time great champions.
Affirmed – 22 wins from 29 starts.
Seattle Slew – 14 wins from 17 starts. Perhaps not as consistent as others on this list, but his durability and willingness to take on all comers more than compensates.
Native Dancer – 21 wins from 22 starts.
. There’s fast, faster, and Dr. He might rank higher on this list if not for an unaccountably disastrous performance as the 2-1 favorite in the 1994 Kentucky Derby. Crushed Affirmed in their two meetings a Belmont Park in the fall of 1978.
Spectacular Bid – 26 wins from 30 starts. Fager – 18 wins from 22 starts. His Triple Crown battles with Alydar will never by forgotten. The only gelding on the list, “Mighty” Kelso, as he was inevitably described, was named Horse of the Year an incredible five times from 1960-1964, a feat that will surely never be matched. Only a narrow loss to Dark Star after a rough trip in the 1953 Kentucky Derby blemishes an otherwise perfect career
Dr. 15 of her 16 starts came in Group 1 or Grade 1 races, but her crowning achievement is surely her back to back victories in the Breeders Cup Mile, both in utterly dominant style.
Holy Bull – 13 wins from 16 starts. Those who argue that many non-American horses deserve inclusion will get no argument from me. Beat Spectacular Bid in their only meeting, but was beaten handily by Seattle Slew in their two races.
Needless to say, this list represents one man’s subjective opinions as to the greatest of all time, and the horses represented here are only those who have raced on American soil. His Kentucky Derby win, which came despite being rushed to the lead by Jean Cruguet after an awkward start, may be the greatest ever. The greatest of the great, his triple crown campaign, during which he set official track records at Churchill Downs and Belmont Park, and an unofficial track record at Pimlico, will never be exceeded or even matched. Pity poor Sham, an outstanding racehorse in his own right, who was a game second in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness before being annihilated with all the rest in Secretariat’s incomparable Belmont Stakes win, during which he set a world record for 12 furlongs that still stands to this day.
Man o’ War – 20 wins from 21 starts. A threat to break the track record every time he stepped on the racetrack, his astonishing 1:57.4 in the 1980 Strub still stands as the record for 10 furlongs at Santa Anita
Kelso – 39 wins from 63 starts. I’ve tried to include the very best of the best without regard to gender or racing surface. The only filly, the only foreign-bred, and the only turf horse on this list, which says something about her greatness. Fager. Undefeated as a 2-year-old, Triple Crown winner at 3. Man o’ War was the first great race horse to really capture the public’s imagination and raise horse racing in the public consciousness
“You know, why do you have to dribble a basketball?” replied Browne. “They try to fight it. Anna Werner attended last year’s contest, where she saw an author’s imaginary game come to life:
And yes, there will be Quidditch trading cards!
And does he enjoy it? “Yeah, you know, it’s therapeutic!” he laughed.
Even with all these undeniable displays of athleticism, Quidditch still doesn’t get much respect. “We like to do a lot of fun stuff. Snatching that “Snitch sock” still ends the game, but getting hold of it can be a real challenge.
It’s even been the subject of a documentary called “Mudbloods” (a Harry Potter reference, of course).
“People get passionate about it because they grew up with Harry Potter,” said one fan.
Earthbound Quidditch still has hoops and balls. And they try to ignore it and block it out. Sadly, players can’t fly. Rowling was ready to line up. Instead, they simply hold a broomstick between their legs. And I just thought to myself, ‘There’s no way this is gonna work. In the movie “The Internship,” Quidditch is a game that’s played for laughs.
Then there’s the role of that little golden ball with wings, called the Snitch. “And for whatever reason, Quidditch isn’t socially acceptable yet.”
“A little bit like a rodeo clown?”
So what is the point of having the broom between your legs, if you can’t fly?
But he and his girlfriend, Missy, claim since it’s co-ed, Quidditch is great for couples.
He also addressed an obvious concern: “I think everyone recommends wearing a cup, and no one does.”
Quidditch, anyone? No idle question in Columbia, South Carolina, where a big championship match is underway this weekend. He’s been playing since 2005, when a classmate at Middlebury College turned to him with an idea: “‘This weekend, we’re gonna try and play real-life Quidditch,'” Benepe recalled. It’s coming!”
“There are sports that are socially acceptable,” said Browne. “I will be right at the front of the queue wanting to see Quidditch,” she said. But it’s one of those things — you can’t fight it. “It’s awesome. This is gonna be so dumb!'”
Thousands are playing an earthbound version of the game introduced by Harry Potter – and broomsticks are still a necessity.
Not so dumb after all. We like to pump up the crowd.”
And now Potter-mania has spawned another craze, one based on the high-flying fantasy game played by Harry and his friends called Quidditch, which has now jumped from the world of wizards to the playing fields of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
“Yeah, that’s actually not too far off. It’s really cool!”
Who would have thought this sport would catch on? Well, even before any of the eight blockbuster Harry Potter movies were made, author J.K. Alex Browne and Missy Sponagle admit the broom thing takes some getting used to.
“Usually extroverted,” said Brian. Rowling’s creation became the most popular book series in publishing history, with over 450 million copies sold — and one of the biggest movie franchises in film history, with nearly $8 billion in ticket sales.
Dignified? Note the ball in a sock hanging off each butt. “We were freshman. “Because I’ve seen this in my head for so many years, and actually that’s the one bit I REALLY want to see!”
“You get a lot of people who resist Quidditch,” said Scheer. The movie laid out the game, with its wizards on broomsticks (“It had to be on broomsticks, it just had to be,” Rowling reasoned), and giant hoops for goals.
Chasers try to score in a Quidditch match.
The documentary introduces Alex Benepe, one of the founders of Quidditch. Dignified rodeo clown!”
“I am working with a group of individuals on starting the first professional Quidditch league,” Scheer said.
What does the future hold for the fastest-growing sport based on a fantasy series filled with wizards and magic wands? With a little help from the Quidditch Referee of the Year, Alex Scheer, Quidditch is going pro.
“My specialty is throwing and tossing [players],” said Nathan.. “‘Cause someone invented the sport and said, ‘You’ve gotta dribble a basketball.’ Why do you have to have a broom between your legs for this? Because it’s Quidditch!”
“I can give her an assist; she can score a goal off my pass,” said Browne. J.K. Catch it, and you end the game! But in real-life Quidditch, snitches are yellow people.
It’s been nearly 20 years since the first Harry Potter book came out and proceeded to cast a spell over fans around the world. Eleven years later, the game is played by thousands of athletes all over the world, although players are often asked some unusual questions, like “What is the snitch? ” “Do you wear a cape?” “How do you fly?” “Do you really use brooms?”

They said the estimated $17 million in sports gambling revenue represented a trivial percentage of the state’s $3.1 billion budget.
The North American professional leagues for baseball, basketball, football and hockey and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) all argued that Delaware’s sports lottery plan violated the 1992 law.
In appealing to the Supreme Court, attorneys representing the state argued the appeals court wrongly concluded that Congress had prohibited Delaware from adopting a sports lottery scheme as a way to balance its budget.
WASHINGTON The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a Delaware appeal that argued the state should be allowed to offer a new sports betting lottery to generate revenue to help ease its record budget deficit.
(Editing by Eric Beech)
The law, the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, prohibits betting on sports, but exceptions were granted to Delaware, Nevada, Montana and Oregon because they previously operated some forms of sports gambling.
By James Vicini
Delaware had expected at least an estimated $17 million in revenues from the sports betting plan in the 2010 fiscal year to help close the state’s budget deficit.
The appeals court ruled in August that Delaware was limited to parlay betting, or gambling on multiple games, and only on National Football League contests. The state went ahead and now offers such betting on at least three NFL games.
The justices without comment let stand a ruling by a U.S. The appeals court ruled that under the federal law Delaware was generally limited to what it offered in 1976.
Attorneys for the professional sports leagues and the NCAA told the Supreme Court the appeal should be rejected. appeals court that a 1992 federal law prohibits Delaware from offering betting on individual games in all major sports.
Delaware offered parlay bets on NFL games for a few months in 1976
Some petty larceny was sometimes resorted to acquire the necessary stake money. Although it never deteriorated to such tragic outcome as the news stories below:
“Man killed, one hurt over spider-fighting”
“2 minors killed over spider-fighting bet”. Needless to say, a lot of us got to taste the leathery sting of a belt. A bill or two missing from a parent’s wallet. Over an unpaid 5 peso bet (10 cents) a 15 year old stab to death a 13 year old boy. Fistfights were not uncommon and going home with a bruised eye and soiled or torn school uniform resulted in the discovery of our illicit activities and the accompanying consequences. Upon learning of his son’s death, the father sought out his son’s killer and hacked him to death with a jungle bolo.
A spider fight in a local town ended in tragedy with one man killed and another wounded after an argument over a disputed bet.The suspect armed with a handgun fired point blank at the head of his opponent killing him instantly and wounded another as he fled the scene of the crime.
We stabled them in empty matchboxes or in a specially constructed box which usually have separate cells to house several spiders. they are feed with insects but we avoid feeding them before a fight to make them more aggressive
Fights would be arrange after school or even during school hours if we could manage to play hooky. The fights were stage in hidden and out of the way places far from parental eyes.Gambling was always involve and most of our lunch money went into it. Occasionally we were found out because of a tattletale schoolmate (usually a girl). :))
Heated arguments from hot heads sometimes occur because some boy felt he was cheated or welsh on a bet
For a single bet, 2 to 8 teams or totals can be selected.
The resulting wager will have the same risk amount with the win being calculated to reflect the odds of the remaining team (Example: On a two team $100 parlay with team A +110 and team B -110 if A ties and B wins the resulting wager will be a straight play on B risking $100 to win $91).
Parlays with spreads and totals at standard -110 odds, use the Fixed Odds Table.
Parlays with spreads and totals with odds not at the standard -110 value, use the True Odds Calculator.
In order for the parlay bet to win, every one of the wagers must win or push (tie). If one or more selections is a tie, postponed, incomplete, cancelled or rescheduled for another day, then the wager reverts to the next lowest number. If betting the underdog, you must enter the line with a plus (+) sign at the beginning.
With a VI Gold Membership, you can SAVE 10% off a Live Odds subscription, SAVE 20% off Daily Pick packages, and receive access to up to 1,000 Member Plays each month!.
A parlay is a single bet that links together two or more individual wagers for a high payout. If you place a 2 team parlay and one team wins and one ties, the wager becomes a straight bet.
**Parlay Calculator based on Offshore Odds
NOTE: If betting a favorite, you must enter the line with a minus (-) sign at the beginning. A 2 team parlay might pay 13/5, a three team parlay might pay 6/1, a four team parlay might pay 10/1, and so forth with the payouts getting higher with more teams or totals selected. If any of the selections lose, your wager loses, regardless of the outcome or cancellation of the other games. For example, if you place a 5 team parlay and have 4 winners and a tie, your wager pays out as a 4 team parlay
The effect is similar to that of having a drug or a drink, which is why gambling changes one’s mental state and mood.
? Gambling at the cost of one’s job results in a decline in the quality of his professional life. A study by the same university suggested that 73% of the individuals who are imprisoned are found to be problem gamblers.
Gambling = Thoughtless Expenditure + Waste of Time
? The costs of treating compulsive gamblers are huge. The addiction has negative effects on one’s physical and mental health and it proves to be detrimental to one’s social, personal, and professional life. The greed never ends and they keep betting more and more. This proves to be detrimental to their social and family life. It only leads to a thoughtless expenditure of money and valuables.
? The addiction to gambling can leave one in bankruptcy. It causes a decline in his/her work performance, thus hampering his career.
? Similar to how an individual keeps consuming substances like drugs or alcohol to experience an altered mental state, he continues to gamble. Thus, gambling practices cause a huge financial burden on the families of the affected and on the society at large.
? An Austrian study said that around 1 in 5 suicidal patients had a gambling problem.
Games offered in casinos, table games like poker, Red Dog, and Blackjack, as also electronic games like Slot Machine and Video Poker are some of the common types of gambling. Their debt keeps building and it may reach an amount that exceeds their capacity to repay.
Compulsive gambling leads to bankruptcy
? Gambling can lead to criminal activities. Due to lost mental peace, they may ill-treat their spouse and children. Forget satisfaction or peace, it is not even refreshing in the real sense. Over time, it becomes a habit, and eventually an obsession that can’t be overcome. It can drag you into crime, gambling isn’t fun.
? Research has shown that gambling can lead to harmful behavior in people. Six to eight million people in America are estimated to have a gambling problem.
? A majority of those addicted to gambling have substance abuse disorders.
? Children of parents who are problem gamblers or gambling addicts tend to feel abandoned and angry, further increasing stress and leading to strained family relations.. Because of this, they land in worse situations and take the wrong decisions in life.
? Studies show that children with a sibling or parent addicted to gambling, are more likely to take to substance abuse.
? According to a research by NCPG, 76 percent of problem gamblers are likely to have a major depressive disorder.
? The stress from gambling may lead to health issues like ulcers, stomach problems, muscle pains, headaches, and problems with sleep.
? People continue gambling with the greed of winning money. In spite of the losses incurred, they continue betting. The addiction gets on to the gamblers to such an extent that they fail to think wisely before acting. Some go that way to forget the sorrow of losing big sums when gambling.
? They start borrowing money and take secret loans. Card games, coin tossing, and dice-based games are some non-casino based forms of gambling. The addiction robs a gambler of all the productive time and leads to loss of efficiency at work. Some take to substance abuse to supplement the high they get from winning huge sums while gambling. Their mental state can even lead to suicidal tendencies.
? Substances of abuse are served at casinos and in pubs and clubs, thus increasing the likelihood of gamblers consuming them. The addiction leads people to continue with gambling irrespective of whether they earn or lose in the deal. They tend to stay away from their near ones, resulting in distrust between them and their loved ones.
Mental and physical health problems, financial issues, and conflicts in the family are among the common negative effects of gambling. The National Council of Problem Gambling (NCPG) describes this type of gambling behavior as problem gambling.
? According to the University of New York, in people with alcohol use disorders, the chances of developing an addiction to gambling are 23 times higher.
? Problem gamblers and addicts tend to abuse their family members. In the following sections of this Buzzle article, we discuss the negative effects of gambling on the individual and society.
? Addiction to gambling has been linked with substance abuse. The two go hand in hand. The stress of risking huge amounts of money or the frustration after losing it can increase the tendency of abuse in gamblers. Initially, one looks at gambling as a way to run away from life’s problems, or from stress, anger, and loneliness. They engage in gambling activities at the cost of their time with family and friends. A recreational activity is supposed to be refreshing and relaxing, but something like gambling is contrary to the very purpose of recreation. On giving a serious consideration to the negative effects of gambling, we realize that it is best avoided.
? According to a study by the George State University, 50% of the problem gamblers commit crime. When they lose the money they had risked, they further gamble to recover the lost amount and it becomes a vicious circle even they can’t escape from.
You could be at gunpoint or holding the gun. To add to the so-called merry atmosphere, gamblers often smoke or drink while playing.
? Additionally, rehabilitation and public assistance systems are taxed.
? Apart from absence at work and drop in efficiency, a common observation is that gamblers tend to steal money and engage in fraudulent behavior to recover from financial losses incurred when gambling, or to get more money to bet.
? As gambling leads to increased criminal activities, in a way, gamblers add to the burden on prisons and the legal system.
? Over time, the practice of gambling starts becoming a habit and begins to have damaging effects at psychological, physical, and social levels. Betting is a mentally taxing activity, and as one goes on risking more and more money, anxiety starts building.
Gambling refers to the betting of money on an event with an uncertain outcome, with the intent of winning additional wealth. Thus, gambling can have a grave economic impact which is difficult to reverse.
